I just went through each month's archive and picked my favorite pics and / or stories.

JANUARY


















What better way to start off a year than with the 2nd Outdoor Game. It goes to a shootout and Crosby scores the winner. He then skates by the cameras behind the glass and screams like a girl.

















If there was ever a good time to be a mascot this was it. Pam Anderson had also flashed a Canucks jersey on the Jay Leno show weeks earlier.

FEBRUARY

















Richard Zednik gets a cyclone kick to the throat from a Sabres player and bleeds like a stuck pig. That was scary stuff. Good to see Zeddy back.

MARCH


















Oh yeah, 2 tix to the Nucks-Flames game as the season was winding down. Turned out that the Canucks spanked the Lames that night and Linden scored the last 2 goals of his career. Am I lucky or what?

APRIL























Naslund accomplished a lot in the stats category playing as a Canuck. But when he complained about the defensive system and left for Manhattan my feeling definitely were not hurt. Unfortunately, then Gillis would sign almost a Naslund clone in Pavol Demitra in the summer.

MAY























The Red Wings were so good in the playoffs... it inspired me to do up a Photoshop of Zettersyuk's heads on a once-dominant tag team in the WWE, Demolition.

JULY

















A tabloid writer in the Swedish Paper DN writes that Sundin is going to Vancouver. I caught this article late that night and posted it. Woke up the next day and the whole country was in disarray over it. Sundin's agent quickly squashed that rumor. Still though...I wonder how that reporter is feeling right now. Like Jesus perhaps?

JULY

















The impatience and boredom of waiting for Sundin prompted me to do up this PS image of Sundin in Vancouver.

AUGUST























Once again, boredom plays a role. Notice how baby Sundin pissed on Gillis? I really didn't think he would choose Vancouver...but I sure as hell wanted him to.

SEPTEMBER



















How many of you dinks mocked Wellwood when he first signed here? This image was just me taking a funny stab at Woody as well. Yeah, he had a weight problem, but he sure has been a big comeback story for the Canucks this season.

OCTOBER













Luongo is not allowed to wear the C on his jersey during games, but that didn't stop him from wearing it for the team photo.

NOVEMBER

















After somewhat of a shakey October, Luongo turns into a mighty force in November. Mighty like the Emperor Palpatine. Days after this Photoshop creation Luongo's groin was destroyed like the Death Star.

DECEMBER























I don't know about you, but when Sundin declared Vancouver as his choice I jumped up and down like Orphan Annie. Only difference is that I actually have real parents.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Oh yeah, I still love this Run DMC Xmas tune, as cheesy as it is. As always, it's a pleasure bringing you the goods. I wish for you all a very Happy Holidays. Enjoy your time with your loved ones. I'll tip my glass to each and every one of you this Christmas...meaning I may not remember anything after it's all said and done.

Waiting For Stanley live draft a success

Thanks to all those who participated in the Live Draft today. It was a great time. I am liking my team. The rest of you had better re-consider your picks!

Waiting For Stanley Hockey Pool

D-lee at Red and Black Hockey has set up a Yahoo Sports Fantasy hockey pool, which I joined, and now I've set one up as well.

HOW TO JOIN

Go to Yahoo Sports Fantasy Hockey home....(you need a Yahoo account first)
-click "Sign Up Now"
-Then click "Join League"
-then click "Join Custom"
-you will enter a screen that asks for the League ID and password which I have provided below:

Shazam.

-I have 15 spots available, so the draft should get into over 300 players deep. That's more time to get drunk, right?

- It is a points pool, not a rotisserie or head-to-head pool format. I'm keeping this simple.

- Speaking of simple: 1 point for a goal, 1 point for an assist for skaters. Goalies get 2 points for a win and 1 for a shutout. That should put someone like Nabokov in the 100 point range.

-No trading amongst eachother because I don't want the hassle of dealing with bunk trade offers. There will be no maximum player drops. And no waiver rule either. Like I said, I'm keeping this shit simple.

What should the winner get..... bragging rights? How about $100 to the winner's charity of choice? That's what it will be.

The live draft will take place on Sunday September 28 at 3:00 pm Pacific Time.
Damn, I love live drafts! Just talking about it gets me excited that hockey is about to begin again!

Hit the road, Jack

My wife and myself are heading out of town Thursday morning for about a week and a half. We are attending a family campout at Manning Park (near Hope), as we all haven't been in one place for 3 years now.
After that, we visit our other relatives in the Abbotsford area, and then enjoy the sights of Vancouver and Vancouver Island or Gabriola Island.
It should be a great time. I need a damned holiday!
If can update this site along the way I will. Hopefully Nonis doesn't pull off a blockbuster while I'm gone!
Aside from that, I will return early August.
As a side point, this site turned 1 year old last Friday! It's been great times. I enjoy talking hockey on here as much as I did when I first started doing it a year ago. Thank you to all who stop by. It's been my pleasure to inform/amuse you.
I'll be back.

Feel free to join my Waiting For Stanley Playoff Hockey Pool. I will send the winner a $50 dollar cheque! That prize isn't nearly as creative as Mike Halford's prize at the Orland Kurtenblog Playoff Pool (a flat of Molson Canadian!) But hey, a cheque is easier, and everyone likes money!
