Datsyuk and Zetterberg

This year's version of Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg cannot be called Dumb and Dumber, rather, Slow Start and Super Finish, or Good and Better. The 2 continue to pile up the points. Each had a goal and an assist in the Red Wings' come-from behind 4-3 win against the falling Rangers tonight. Both players were in on the winning goal.
Where the hell were these 2 in the first half of the season? Detroit got off to a slow start this season, and Datsyuk and Zetterberg looked alot like last year's Bertuzzi and Naslund, floating around aimlessly and not generating alot of chances. Well that has changed now, and with it, Detroit's fortunes.
To make things worse, I have to admit that I am eating my words right now. Earlier in the season, I bragged to a certain Red Wings blogger that the Wings would be futile without the services of Shanahan and Yzerman. The team would falter without 2 great Canadian guys like that leading the team. Well, now the top 5 scorers in Detroit are all Europeans: Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Lidstrom, Holmstrom, and Lang. 1 Russian, 3 Swedes, and a Czech. Oh yeah, and their Czech goalie is putting up Vezina numbers this season and hasn't been carted away in a wheelchair yet. To make matters even worse still, Shanahan's Rangers are now in 11th spot in the East, 5 points out of a playoff spot, and without much character or identity. I guess that explains their acquisition of Sean Avery today.
Any poolie who held on to Datsyuk and Zetterberg in the tough times this year is now laughing. Any Detroit-hater, like myself, is shaking his or her head and cursing the Wings for now only being 5 points out of first spot in the West. Why won't these bastards just go away?!
PS- Doesn't Zetterberg look a bit like Jim Carrey? And doesn't Datsyuk look like one or all of the aliens from Mars Attacks?

You said Detriot's top 5 point producers this season are Europeans but you forgot to mention that their #6 is a Newfie - Dan Cleary. He is also 2nd in goal scoring on this team!!! Please don't forget about the Newfoundlanders - we get so lttle respect as it is.

Well, I couldn't throw a Newfie in there when I was talking about Europeans!!!
Hey, Newfies are great! I know alot of them here in Smithers. How do you think I got into drinking Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum?!
There isn't a buttload of Newfie talent in the League now is there?
Cleary, Michael Ryder, and Ryan Clowe are good ones though!
Canuck fans should be familiar with former Newfie NHL players like Jason King, Harold Druken, and Darren Langdon.
What ever happened to Druken?

Druken is playing for The St. John's Capitals in the Newfoundland senior League - Langdon is in the same league with The Deer Lake Flyers.

Thanks, jimbuff.
I liked Druken when he played for the Leafs, but I guess management didn't...
