Waiting For Stanley traded to Sports Blog Nation for a 7th round pick

I wasn't so sure this day was going to come, but it has. I will no longer be updating this site from this point forward. Several weeks ago, Mike, the Yankee Canuck asked me if I wanted to join him in covering the Canucks over at James Mirtle's SportsBlogs Nation. I was intrigued and hesitant about the idea at first. I have put a lot of work into this site since its inception in June 2006. But the chance to gain even more exposure at SBN is something that I want. It's a new challenge.

So Mike and I will be covering the Canucks angrily, happily and faithfully on a site called NUCKS MISCONDUCT. The new site is officially live!

It's going to be a blast. We are 2 insane Canuck fans who don't pull any punches when it comes to covering our team.

SportsBlogs Nation has some great perks to it. Our site is very interactive. Fans can post stories or even pictures in our sidebar under headings called Fanposts and Fanshots.

See you there.

A big thanks to all who have supported and visited Waiting For Stanley over the past 2.5 years. Who knows, maybe one day I'll return here.

  2. Finally you guys joined the team! At first I was angry, "Why are these guys dragging their feet so much and twiddling their thumbs?"

Then, of course, I remembered, "Ah, that's right. Sundin."

  3. Thanks, Mike.

Earl... we didn't exactly rush into any decisions. We took our time. Ooo, that does sound like Sundin. Goddammit it's contagious!

  4. Damnit. Everyone is running off to the aggregators.

Best of luck at SBN, I will miss this place though. Thank you for the fun. And I suppose I'll hobble over to SBN and enjoy you and Mirtle in one spot.

  5. Believe me, rsm, there was a point where I almost said 'fuck it'. I wanted to see this site through after all the damned hard work.
But it's fun being a part of an organization.
You'll enjoy Mike's stuff too. Guy cracks me up!

  7. Wow! Congrats, Sean. Now I can say I knew you when.

    All the best.

p.s. 'inceful' as in "It's been inceful nice knowing you."

  8. Darren- SBN was having problems with it. They are working on it. Soon it will be ready.

Judy- you'll have to come visit at the new site. It'll be fun.
Going to SBN doesn't make you a celebrity though...haha.
Shaving your head and pretending you can sing does apparently

  9. I was wondering if Mirtle was going to be smart enough to tap you. This is still my favorite Canucks blog. Good job, and Congrats.

  10. Yeah, I'll look for you there. It just seems so much more 'structured'. I kinda liked your slightly under-the-radar, somewhat lo-tech blog.

My fondest memory of Waiting for Stanley will be the Luongo/Ovechkin comments after the All-Star game. I was laughing so hard (at my own jokes half the time) that I fell over. Good times.

Busier these days than I was, but I'll drop by. You'll always be a celebrity to me.

p.s. Pamela's sister, Melissa, worked for me for a couple of days as a production assistant. Nice girl. Not slutty at all. Pretty too. And smart. Then again, maybe she wasn't Pam's sister...

  11. Nice story on Melissa. haha

"Structured"? I don't think we will be very structured at Nucks Misconducts. We mean not to change our style at all and the owners are happy with that.

Tapeleg: Thanks, Tapeleg. Hope to see you on there sometime soon.

  12. HA! See, that's why I like you. Your shrewd sense of humor.

  13. I hope you keep up the same style of writing and that this is not a sell out move. I would have liked to see you continue here but I will continue to read there if you keep up the same style that kept me reading here.

  14. "My boy's gonna play in the Big League..." Couldn't resist. My last comment to you on Waiting for Stanley.

Nucks Misconduct. Geez, ya gotta have an ACCOUNT, and SIGN IN, and they probably do a credit check and a criminal records search too. But anything for you, Sean. See you there. I want some meaty crap from you about tomorrow night's game. And no more pictures of squirting arses.

  15. Oh, cow shit is still on the menu, Judy. Oh yes it is. haha

Jim- I'm not changing my style at all. In fact those guys at SBN are pretty lax when it comes to content.

  18. Cool article you got here. I'd like to read something more concerning that topic. The only thing I would like to see here is a few pics of any devices.
