Oh to be a fly on the wall of the Beruzzi-Moore meeting
One-time Colorado Avalanche forward Steve Moore and former Vancouver Canucks winger Todd Bertuzzi met in Toronto on Monday with a mediator in an effort to prevent a lawsuit from heading to court.Marc Crawford will also be at the meeting. This conversation would be great to listen in on, as the whole scenario has gotten nasty over the past few years with fingers pointing everywhere. Moore's career is over, Bertuzzi said he was ordered to take out Moore, Crawford was saying he had tried to get Bertuzzi off the ice. Lovely. So it will be interesting to see if the 3 can hug and make up somehow, settle this on-going issue, and move on with their lives.
It was the first face-to-face meeting between the two since the infamous sucker punch during a March 8, 2004, game in Vancouver that ended Moore's career.
I guess the real unfortunate thing here is that Steve Moore is the one who ends up hurting the most. So, Bertuzzi should anti up and settle this out of court. At least then he won't have this cloud over his head that we all know is there. I still doubt that Crawford should have much or any blame in this. But who am I to judge.
