Lightning claim Pettinger off waivers

That's the risk a GM takes putting a guy on waivers in the first place. Pettinger was placed on re-entry waivers as the Canucks have injury problems, as was Kyle Wellwood, and Tampa scooped up the depth forward. Maybe this was Gillis' plan all along since Pettinger cleared waivers a few days back. He wanted to get rid of him. Who knows for sure.
So what now? Is it time for Michel Ouellet to get a chance? The Canucks need another winger for tonight's game. Stay tuned.
Good luck in Tampa, Matt. Thanks for all your hard work here.

It's Krogger time baby.

No way Ouellet gets called up anytime soon. He's probably the easiest guy to claim at 50% off from the Canucks now.

Tampa already has too damn many forwards. I think they're going to make a deal soon for some help on the blueline.

Maybe Tampa will trade us Pettinger back for Bieksa :-)

I'll miss not being able to say "Go Petting Zoo!"

No more petting zoo. Oh boo.
Mike, Ouellet has to clear waivers? Did we trade for him while he was on waivers? I don't get it.

I'm down with Krog too, but would rather see Ouellet play.

I believe it has something to do with the fact that Ouellet was already in the AHL when we picked him up, but I'm not terribly certain. I'm almost positive though he'd had to clear re-entry waivers to play; if claimed from re-entry, Canucks get hit with half of his cap hit like we did with Pettinger which is 625K.

So who scores the Canucks' first goal? The GREAT Kyle Wellwood! Woo!
He's playing well.

Loved that Bieksa - Picard fight. Talk about an ass-kicking!

What was Captain Picard doing at a Canucks game and why did Bieksa kick his ass?
