Finally, a Leafs coach that preaches defence first / JFJ to San Jose

Ron Wilson is going to preach defence-first with the Leafs. And if they don't like it, they won't play. It's about time somebody did this in Toronto. If every player buys into Wilson's system I think the gutted Leafs could turn a few heads this year. We know Pavel Kubina played ina tight defensive system before and won a Cup doing it in Tampa. Now let's see how Tomas Kaberle deals with the change.
Like the reporter said: the Leafs were 4th-worst in the NHL for goals against last season. That will change.

John Ferguson Jr. will not get another crack as an NHL GM anytime soon. But he has been named the Sharks' director of pro scouting. That may come with a little fan backlash I'm sure. But at least he is not in the position to piss away the good picks he finds, right? He just has to find good prospects. He'll be fine.

Yawn...another exciting season on tap for Hockey Night in Toronto...er...Canada. Wilson can get away with it in Toronto, he doesn't need to sell tickets to survive.
