Don't let Darcy Hordichuk's taste in dogs fool you

From Elliot Pap at the Vancouver Sun:

For a National Hockey League tough guy, new Vancouver Canuck Darcy Hordichuk has an unpredictable taste in dogs.
His on-ice role calls for ferocity and size yet his pets are itty-bitty Shih Tzus named Chandler and Franklin.
Chandler and Franklin? What gives?
"They are to protect my wife," Hordichuk winked.
More on that hilarious story here.

Hordichuk trained a bit with UFC fighter Chuck Liddell this summer. I hope that doesn't translate into him kicking somebody on the ice this year.... I kid. Are ankle-locks legal in the NHL? More on that story here.

Canucks fans will enjoy Hordi; he was a fan favorite in Nashville even when he wasn't playing much. And he shows surprising on-ice discipline for an enforcer. Last year he didn't take a single minor penalty all season.

Holy, good to hear! He seems to have that humor and personality that will turn him into a fan favorite here as well.
Jeff Cowan would have been a fave here if his scoring streak lasted longer. Nothing can top "bra power." Oh yeah, and Cowan doesn't win many fights.
