Blackhawks sign Akim Aliu to a 3-year deal

The Nigerian-born Aliu scored 28 goals and 61 points in 60 games with the London Knights last season, ranking him 3rd on the team. He also had 133 penalty minutes.
He was drafted 56th overall by the Hawks in the 2007 Entry Draft.
Aliu is one tough customer. He will become a household name this season, probably more for his rough antics.
I profiled him lastJune. Check that article out here. It has a pretty good Aliu clip as well.

Ouch. I'm curious how much scoring Aliu will do though compared to compiling penalty minutes. We'll see.

He is terrible skater!! The Hawks feel they need tough guys to protect Kane, Toews, etc. If Dustin Bfylugen would get rid of his purse maybe he could be the enforcer!!

Looks like Byfuglien wants to be a sniper, huh?
You'd think a Nigerian guy would be quick. Maybe that's just in running.....
