Scooped some Canucks tickets!
Sometimes it pays to have connections, huh? I just recieved 2 tickets to the Canucks and Flames game on March 30th, free of charge. I am taking my wife to her first ever NHL game. They are box tickets on the Executive Level at good ol' GM Place. I've never sat higher than about the 20th row from the glass, so this will be different, but COOL. Free booze? Oh hell yeah! Canucks tickets are a treat for us people who live in Northern BC, 14 hours north of Van.
The best part about this is that it will be a crucial game to the Canucks' playoff hopes and will be a playoff-like atmosphere.
I'll take all the pictures I can and post them after that game. Hopefully the pic of me jumping over the glass and shit-kicking Jarome Iginla turns out! ha!

Just remember to keep your clothes ON, unlike that poor drunk bastard who went over the glass at a Flames game bare-ass nekkid. Slipped, and knocked himself out cold on the ice. Significant shrinkage ensued, no doubt.
Congrats tho!
Remember to call Tanguay a huge box for me. What kind of duster doesn't play because of a broken toe?
All I can say is:
GO FLAMES!!!!
James: I will do it with clothes on!
Peter: A wimpy French Canadian, that's who! :) I kid.
Matt: Fuck that shit! Die Flames! Burnout!
I hate you.
Really really hate you.
Taking your silly wife to the game? She don't even like hockey! What about your best freakin' friend of ten freaking years??? Where's the loyalty??? Integrity? Honor?
Bastard.
Hey, what is your record at Canuck games anyways? I'm 1-6 of course, but are you above .500?
I believe I'm 2 wins 1 loss. The loss being to the Rangers in 1996. Messier was a killer.
"Where's the loyalty??? Integrity? Honor?"
I lack in all those categories.
Happy wife, happy life! :) (sorry J)
:-(
Buy her a pink Canucks t-shirt, hehehe!
We need to think of a good sign for you to bring.
Yeah, like "Dump Naslund, Nonis!!!"
Totally off topic, but what's it like in Northern BC anyway? It seems from here (Oregon) to be a very attractive place to live, but maybe its the traffic that's getting to me.
It's a pretty nice place, in my opinion. Not a lot of services or amenities like the city, but a heck of a lot more outdoors stuff that doesn't take three hours to get to. Fishing, hiking, biking, snowmobiling, skiing, and hunting practically all in your backyard.
We're fortunate in Smithers in that we don't get huge amounts of snow (like they do on the coast) or extremely cold winter (like on the prairie or further north). I think we were at -25 celsius for a couple of weeks this winter but it didn't get much colder than that.
The housing market is getting kinda silly though. We're not quite as bad as other places in the north, but it is tough to find affordable houses. To top it all off there doesn't seem to be a lot of development in the works to ease the pressure.
Zany, would you agree with my assessment? Perhaps I should have gone into advertising...
Pretty decent assessment. Smithers is 4 hours northwest of Prince George. The cool thing about here? It's where the mountains start. Driving north from Vancouver to here, it gets pretty flat past 100 Mile House, and it stays that way for about a 7 hour drive...until you get to this area. Our mountains rule! This is one awesome scenic and QUIET town.....with a ludicrous housing market.
Now that I know what you look like, I know who to 'mug' tonight to get some tix ;)
Better bring a weapon there boy!
