In Sanford and MacIntyre we trust
The Canucks have called up goalie Drew MacIntyre from the Manitoba Moose today. It appears that Luongod is mortal after all, suffering from bruised ribs. Well at least that is not a long-term injury, and we know that Sanford is a reliable backup. It's the team in front of him that is questionable.
Perhaps that is why the Canucks also called up Mason Raymond and Jason Jaffray as well. We could see some lineup changes. Is someone else injured? Morrison? Someone getting the hook? Linden and Brown?
The 3 callups are doing a fantastic job for the Moose this season.
- MacIntyre has played 16 games, and has an 11-4-1 record and a 2.28 GAA and a .926 save percentage.
- Mason Raymond has 6 goals and 14 points in 17 games.
-Jason Jaffray is continuing his AHL scoring prowess with 10 goals and 21 points in 19 games.

I heard it may be more than bruised (broken).
According to Matthew Sekeres of the Globe, Morrison's
likely to miss this one (and thus end his ironman streak). There's still a chance he could play, but it's not looking so good. Isbister also seems unlikely to play, so that's where Raymond and Jaffray will likely fit in: it will be nice to see how they do with some time in the big league. This timing's pretty bad for the Canucks though: having your #1 goalie go down right before back-to-backs is never fun.
With Luongo out it gives the Canucks the chance to try to prove they don't rely on Luongo to carry them though...
I'm with clayman on this one. The team has to rally around Sanford and play better in front of him.
I just fucking wish Jaffray would get a hat trick and make a serious impression. The guy has skills but just hasn't got it done at the NHL level yet. Yeah, I'm a big Jaffray fan..can you tell?
At least Raymond and Jafray are going to inject some life into this lifeless team-off-the-moment.
Hey Matt! You can't bullshit a bullshitter!
