Hawks place Sergei Samsonov on waivers

Many thought Samsonov would rejuvenate his career in Chicago after bitterly leaving Montreal. But that did not happen, as Samsonov showed a lot of flair with the Hawks but has only managed 4 assists and a -7 rating in 23 games with the Hawks. His ice time averaged about 12:20 per game. He only had 38 shots on goal. How quickly his career has declined. Samsonov enjoyed his best years with Joe Thornton in Boston.
Now he comes with a $3,525,000 price tag and is certain to be doomed to the minors. Oh well, adiose jackass!!
