Once a Flamer.....

Iginla has signed a 5-year extension that will pay him $7 million per season.

"There are a lot of great hockey cities. For the fans and the passion, there isn't a city that beats Calgary," said Iginla.

"I haven't played anywhere else," said Iginla. "I talked with guys like Tony Amonte who has played in other cities, some great cities, and Craig Conroy who came back to Calgary and they rank Calgary right up there. That goes a long way in helping to make these decisions."

"You have to think about free agency a little bit, to be honest. But when I talked to my wife, we have family that is close to Calgary, the city is great. But one of the biggest things is winning. Here, there is a chance to win and that's what you want. So, in the end, it wasn't even close."

Amusing p-shop, but Iggy rules. Never been a Flames fan per se, but I've always been an Iginla fan. He just seems so damn earnest, hardworking and a nice guy to boot. The Flames are lucky to have him and that he is such a classy guy who wants to stay put and win instead of chasing the big bucks *kaff*BRIERE*kaff..

No, some fan took that pic of Iginla at the parade!! hahah

Iggy's a good guy. I just hate him because he plays for the rival Flames.
I have a 'buddy' that goes to church with him in Calgary, so the gay thing is an obvious joke!

Wow...he signed that kind of deal BEFORE playing for Keenan. We'll see how he feels about that deal around Christmastime.

One thing about Keenan is that he'll play the hell out of him and put a lot of pressure on him.
I bet Iginla gets 100 points next season!
