New Canucks jersey?

*UPDATE*

RELEASE DATE OF THE NEW CANUCKS JERSEY CAN BE FOUND HERE

The Vancouver media is saying that we won't have to wait until training camp to see the new jerseys. Apparently, they may be revealed on August 1.

To quote a sporting goods store owner through the Vancouver Sun:

"Right now we're ordering next year's inventory blindly," says the owner of a sporting goods outlet in North Vancouver. "All we've been told is that the colours of the uniforms will be blue, green and white, but we don't know what the crest is going to look like. The current killer whale [or orca] jersey, as we understand it, will be kept in reserve and occasionally be used as a 'classic' uniform."

In the meantime, here are a couple of concept jerseys made by a couple fans at Canucks.com. They claim that these images are close to accurate, but we shall see.

**UPDATE AUGUST 4**

The new jersey still has not been released to the public yet. The second it does, I will post it. I guess for now all we can do is wait and speculate. I know...that does suck.

More concepts by fans here.

I say ditch the stupid shark logo (or whatever that is) and just use an old mug shot of Dennis Ververgaert.

The colour scheme looks a little like the old Whalers, or Seattle's T-Birds. They should go back to the old stick and rink, though.

Those wouldn't be so bad, I'm not a Canucks fan, obviously, but I actually like the Orca C

I love the Canucks having an Orca logo on their jerseys. I really hope they keep some version of it. It seems a fitting motif for the area, unless of course Washington gets a hockey team that wants to use it now that the Orca is the state's marine mammal officially.

Isn't the whole reason they had the whale because of orca bay? and now that they don't own anymore, I thought they were going to change away. I've never really been a fan of the orca jersey.

Are the only options 'stick-in-rink' or 'berthing whale'? Surely to God the perfect logo is out there waiting to be conceived.

if you aren't smart enough to know that the "stupid shark" is an orca, you shouldn't be allowed to post a comment

The white jersey is the new canucks away jersey. It is all most exactly the same as the real new canucks jersey.

the company that own orca bay still own the canucks, they are in litagation with the person that had bought the canucks and are curently still in court to settle who owns the team. because the "old" owners are still in controll this is there jersey. if vancouver falls under new owndership next year based on the judges decision there could be a new jersey next year.

The new jersey looks like a second rate beer league jerseys like The Spuzzum Canucks or something I hate the Canucks and their stupid jersey if they only would listen to their fans and stick wiht the stick and rink logo maybe they could break the stupid curse.
