Lowe desperation continues to set in

Kevin Lowe is back at it again, tendering a five year, $21.25 million offer sheet to Anaheim Ducks Group II restricted free agent Dustin Penner.
Looking at Penner's stats, I'd say this is another desperate attempt by Lowe to save face. However this is not as ludicrous as the Vanek ordeal. Penner had 29 goals and 45 points in 82 games in his first full season in the NHL last season.
As a comparison, Derek Roy, who just received a 6-year $24 million deal, scored 21 goals and 63 points last season.
Penner is more of a sniper and is a huge presence on the ice. He has Todd Bertuzzi potential minus the mental snap.
The Ducks have 7 days to match. If they don't, the Oilers will have to cough up a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round pick.

Damn it!!! Thr Predators have signed Marty Gelinas to a 1-year $1.25 million deal. Gelinas would have looked better in Vancouver.
