Cowan the Brabarian is staying!

Bra power is not finished in Vancouver! The Canucks have signed Jeff Cowan to a 2-year at a reported $1.4 million in total. In the 42 games he played with Vancouver last season he scored 7 goals and 3 assists along with 93 penalty minutes.
This is a good signing for the Nucks. Cowan is a character guy who chips in once in a while, and is not afraid to drop the gloves.

The Panthers have resigned Jozef Stumpel to a 2-year $4.5 million deal today, preventing him from entering the UFA market.

The Flames signed Wayne Primeau to a 3-year deal and D-man David Hale to a 1-year deal. Dang! I was hoping Primeau would come to Vancouver....

Mark Messier, Ron Francis, Al MacInnis and Scott Stevens will all be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame NHL Executive Jim Gregory will be inducted in the 'builder' category. The induction ceremony will be held on November 12.
