Antropov signs 2-year deal

And the big Kazakh will make over $2 million per season. Antropov is a work in progress. His 18 goals and 15 assists in 54 goals this season was an improvement, and he is developing into a decent power forward. But for some reason, I just wish he would go away..... I'm just not a fan.
Here are some reactions around Leafland:
- "One question, why?" - Bleed_blue
-"yet another bad signing by JFJ, they should have cut ties and realized the 7 years they gave him to develope were an absolute waste!!!!" - Turnzee
- "THIS GUY can get 2+ Million a year?!? Wow JFJ.. You've truly outdone yourself. Absolutely shocked." - Gary14
-"i liked this move because antropov came into his own .... however once iseen the price i smashed my head of my table a few times ..." Sajus1343
-"Ok, does this guy have naked pictures of someones wife? Every year i hope they get rid of him, and every year he keeps coming back....I...am....so....confused." - Bloodflame1830

No love there at all.
Antro's 33 points in 54 games in an injury plagued year were decent numbers. I'd like to see now what he'd do playing a full season with a multi-million deal. Maybe his motivation will now dry up now that he's got the money. I just don't trust the guy.

This is one of many reasons the Leafs will not win the Cup. I wonder if they will even make the playoffs?

I don't know anymore. Antro shoed improvement this year, but I am concerned that he was motivated mostly by money.
I wouldn't bet against the Leafs making the playoffs next year.

The funny thing is that Pyatt put up 4 more points in about 20 more games and $1.5M is a good deal?

Antro and Pony will likely flank Mats all season instead of just post-all star break and that will make a huge difference.

If Antro stays healthy then this deal looks great. Try to find another player that will put up 50 points, kill penalties, is a big body in the cycling game (which just won the Cup), and has as soft hands as he does for $2M?

It all depends on health so I suggest we both start sacrificing chickens!
