Canucks sign Kesler

According to TSN, the Canucks have signed Ryan Kesler to a 3-year deal that will pay him a total of $5.25 million. That is less per year than the $1.9 million salary caused by Booby Clarke's underhanded bid on Kesler's services last summer. The current averages out to about $1.75 million per season.

When Kesler came back and played one game in the playoffs he looked good out there. Then he re-injured himself. Kesler's value will be as a checker that needs to chip in between 15-20 goals per season. If he plays with the Sedins, all bets are off!

This is a good move by the Canucks. I believe what we were missing in the Ducks series was Cooke and Kesler. Would they have won the series? Doubt it but it would have been closer. I think Kesler has decent up side and for that price it's pretty good.

My concern is his health but we will see.

I agree. I like Kesler's speed and grit. I just don't expect more than 20 goals out of him unless he plays with Hank and Dank.
