Ducks 4 Canucks 2

In a game where the 2 teams combined for 104 penalty minutes, the Canucks lacked intensity for the most part, especially in the first period. They looked to be playing in slow motion, like they just woke up from a deep slumber. Although the shots were 10-10 in the first, the Ducks built a 3-1 lead for themselves, and really didn't look back after that.
The Canucks woke up in a sense after Corey Perry (Dustin Penner, actually) pushed Tommi Santala almost head-first into the boards, prompting Kevin Bieksa to rough up Penner a little. Not even a fucking penalty called on that play. To be honest though, a part of me hoped that Santala wouldn't return after that! I was drooling over the options of who Vigneault would call up from Manitoba in Santala's long term absence. Santala barely missed a shift. Damn! Santala still can't bury the biscuit either...even after 2 wide open net chances. Fucker.
The rough stuff started after the hit on Santala, and the Nucks woke up. But it was too late. Looking lame on the PP for the most part didn't help either.
Not keeping up with the Ducks' speed and size didn't help.
The Naslund-Smolinski-Bulis line looking pathetic didn't help.
Taking stupid penalties didn't help.
So, chalk it up as an OFF NIGHT.

My 3 stars:
1. Don't
2. Fucking
3. Care

my thoughts exactly...they looked tired, and uninspired.

Canucks must have forgotten to set their clocks forward, as it was a much better squad the second two periods.

Ooh, what happens if these two teams meet up in the playoffs? Will Sabourin get any love based on the season series?

btw, I believe it was Penner boarding Santala that got everyones blood boiling. Perry I think is generally detestable, but I don't think he did anything more than his usual flopping last night.

Not a chance!

Must have been a good game to watch live though, hey Sleek?

I'll correct the Penner thing, thanks!

Yeah, it was a lot of fun. I was in the upper bowl, which was pretty split between Canuck and Duck fans (in fact, I was there at the invite of a Canucks fan, so even we were split).

The funniest part was there were moments when I would be yelling "Great work, Sammy!" at Pahlsson while my friend was yelling "Go get 'em, Sammy!" at Salo.

Nice! haha. 2 Sammy's. One is convincingly better than the other though! Hint: Name rhymes with 'shallow.'

I am fairly hung over today, so that is the biggest reason that post has bad attitude. :)

The game was just a glitch. They have to lose once in a while don't they?
I just can't believe that Jan Bulis seemed to be the only guy that was skating hard. Cowan was as well, when he wasn't in the box.
