Wellwood out for 6 weeks

What was a day-to-day hip and groin injury for Wellwood has escalated into surgery tomorrow for the up and coming Leaf. Wellwood has been out of action since December 20 and has been sorely missed by the Leafs. He has 9 goals and 22 assists in 35 games this season.

Yergh. The Leafs just cannot catch a break. I hope this isn't the start of an injury-plagued career for Wellwood, because he really is that dang good.

If the Leafs are wise, they will let him heal up 100% and not rush his return.

In 6 weeks, they may NEED to rush him if they fall any further out of the playoffs! That or rush JFJ out of office!

Right now, yes. But they may surge in in the last 20 games or so.
