Flyers waive 3 players / Other NHL news

*The Flyers have waived forwards Petr Nedved, Niko Dimitrakos, and defenceman Nolan Baumgartner. To replace them, they have called up Stefan Ruzicka, Ben Eager, and Alexandre Picard. This is a result of the Flyers' lousy start this season, and of course, the 9-1 ass whoopin' they recieved last night from the Sabres.

*TSN is reporting that on the heels of the Russian club Yaroslavl filing lawsuits against the Oilers and Flames over the players Andrei Taratukhin and Alexei Mikhnov, Metallsburg has also filed a lawsuit over the Penguins' signing of Malkin today. This just before Malkin plays his first NHL regular season game tonight against the Devils.

*Last night was the first time in his career that Trevor Linden was a healthy scratch. Vigneault said that it was to rest him for the long haul. Makes Linden look like a charity case doesn't it? Maybe he shouldn't be on the roster at all then.

* Rumors have Yanic Perrault possibly signing with Ottawa. We'll see. He was also rumored to Florida. Spector's is also saying that Jason Allison is/was holding out for a contract that would pay him $3 million per year. Hey Jason, there is a reason why you haven't been signed yet! Lower your damn price tag!

*Sandis Ozolinsh is nearing a return for the Rangers after left knee surgery.

If Ottawa were smart they'd grab Perrault - at third line depth, he's a steal and an upgrade on a lot of other teams centers.

Especially with the loss of Smolinski.
