NHL NEWS

*Carlo Colaiacovo has been cleared to play by a neurologist. The Leafs defenceman was seeing stars last week during practice, and there was a possibilty that he would miss time due to his concussion that he sustained last season. The Leafs will not rush him back into the lineup at this time.
*After a second opinion it has been confirmed that Alex Mogilny has has an arthritic hip and will be placed on the Devils' long term injured reserve. This in turn will save Lou Lamoriello $3.5 million on cap spending. Look for Brian Gionta to sign a contract very soon.
*Predators Steve Sullivan and Jason Arnott have tight groins will be out of action for an undisclosed amount of time.
