THE NEW SURVIVOR SERIES

My guess is this will be the biggest gong show of the season. Add Mike Keenan to the mix and we're almost guaranteed to see the sparks fly. Two guys, one old and one Auld, both wanting to prove they're starters could turn out to be mildly interesting, in a soap opera kind of way, particularly if one of them stinks up a period or two.
Zanstorm is declaring the Panthers to, not only make the playoffs but to make some noise in the east, for which I say....bunk. Loser eats his hat.....hope you like hat, Zanstorm.

That's easy, Belfour!

It's the year of the Panthers! You'll see!

Hodge, that is creative genius!

Will the Panthers finish with more points than the Canucks?

Will Auld/Belfour's numbers be as good as Luongo's?

Will Lukas Krajicek be given the Golden Hockey Stick of Paul Coffey and begin a new era of offensive defencemen?

All this and more to be seen in the coming months!

I'll answer...YES, NO, NO!

I think it is more likely that it'll be "No's" all around.

Nonis still has something cookin' I can smell it. And when it is finished baking, it's gonna come out of the oven smellin' dang good.

I'm reduced to food metaphors, how tragic. Let's talk about the Leafs.

let's not...see the standings in the sidebar from last year? Well the Leafs will be in the same spot this year! Yep, I admit it! I can always dream though.
Why do you think I'm buying a Luongo jersey? LOL I kid..

I will say this for Florida, I think they may be good also, but not because of netminding.

Olli Jokinen was scary last year, and Bertuzzi will add to that quite a bit, I think.

I could see that team pulling some s#it together. After all, they do get to play the Caps 8 times.

How unfortunate that the Canucks are in a division with Edmonton, Calgary, Colorado, and Minnesota, while Detroit and Nashville get to play St Loo, Chicago, and Columbus eight times each.

Florida may get to play the caps 8 times, but they also have to face Atlanta, TB, and Carolina, which is no small task.

The Leafs don't have it any easier either though. Ottawa, Buffalo, and Montreal were good teams last year, and a revamped Bruins club with Chara on D could mean serious cah-cah for T.O.

Anyone heard from JFJr lately? Apparently there is a premier goalie playeing for Ak Bars Kazan in the Russian league next season...

The Leafs ought to be 0 for 32 against their own division LOL

BTW my tag is up on my sight. feel free to slander LOL.

At least Earl has a voice of reason!

Temujin, I believe Florida is now better than TB AND Atlanta!

At least Colorado is getting weaker, and the Wild may or may not be better this year. The Canucks could be ok.
Just be happy they aren't in Sleek's division down there in California!

Sorry, R/C I can't slander that, it's too good! I will keep in mind to slander Springsteen once in a while!

Oh go ahead and give her, water off a ducks back lol. Anyways I'm drunker than you were last night and still know that the Minny Wild have greatly improved!

I don't think you really believe that, pal. You were the one slamming Bertuzzi for half the season, and it wasn't too long ago you were crapping on Auld!

Unless you've got some kind of love affair/fetish with Bryan Allen, I can't really see how you can justify thinking Florida will be that much better. I beleive in Blueland, baby! Atlanta is going to win that division.

Are you drunk? Of course I believe that!
Auld and Belfour will share goaltending duties, and I do like that combo. I've always said Auld is a steady goaltender, just not a great goaltender. He could improve yet. Of course I slammed Bertuzzi last year! He was a fucking floater! I hated that whole Naslund-Bert-Morrison line! Think he'll float on a Roberts and Nieuwendyk line, in a no-distraction environment? I doubt it! And yes I do think Bryan Allen is good. He's steady, and he's getting better and better. And you may not realize that they've added Ruslan Salei as well! That was the Duck's loss, but they got Pronger.
Has Tampa or Atlanta improved that much this off-season? Hell no! The Thrashers replaced career year Marc Savard with a slumping Steve Rucchin to center Kovalchuk..er...
The Lightning replaced Pavel Kubina and Darryl Sydor with Filip Kuba and Andy Delmore. Do the math..
But they did sign Marc Denis, who is good, but IMO isn't much better than John Grahame statistically.
So barring some blockbuster deal by the Thrashers and Lightning, I stand by my statement and will bet money on it!

Salei is a tricky one. Definitely we will miss him and he will help FLA, but it's still difficult to figure out exactly how he helps or what we'll miss.

I will, however, miss the nicknames I have developed over the years.

Rusty
Belarooooos!
Salei of Game

Salei it ain't so

Boy, Roberts is sure going to be welcomed back in Fla with open arms now, won't he? You seem to forget the rather large middle finger he waved at them when he thought the Leafs were going to grovel at his feet. I'd bet my left err... toenails that he gets injured in mid-November and we won't see him again for the rest of the season.

Come to think of it, I think the same will happen with Eddie the Eagle.

And Joltin' Joe N...

Damn, sounds like we are talking about the Leafs after all. I was only kidding before.

Hey they could get injured this year, it's possible!
I bet they will welcome Roberts back eventually.
It's hard to tell our true tones of voice through typing! I think you were trying to sucker me into an argument weren't you? Ah well, I'm a sucker.
PS- the line of Bertuzzi-Nieuwendyk-Roberts plays really well on NHL 2006!!! HAHA

Earl, Cirque d'Salei is my fave! Funny stuff!

Shit! THAT was funny! That'll stick! Hopefully they put Horton on that line to screw up your line name!
I'm not as quick witted as you, but if the Canucks have Cooke, Naslund, and Morrison on their top line, you could call it the Cooked Swedish Meatball Line!!
If this Florida war goes on much longer, I may have to put the SouthEast division in the sidebar, and we'll all make bets!

What are the Panthers waiting for to sign Domi and Allison? They could then brag that it's Leafs graveyard.
