FLOATING RUMORS

*There is talk of Peter Bondra returning to Washington this season. Bondra had an injury-marred season last year. I think any help is good help for Ovechkin right now.
BS meter: Why would the Caps bring back Bondra after they haven't signed any other key restricted free agent forwards this offseason? Maybe he'll play for super cheap.

*The Flyers are rumored to be interested Anson Carter and Brian Leetch. BS Meter: I can see Brian Leetch going there, but not Anson Carter. The Flyers have lost Kim Johnsson and Eric Desjardins. They need another PP specialist. Leetch fits the bill. I don't see them paying Carter what he wants, plus they already signed Nedved, Sanderson, and traded for Calder. No room for Carter.

*There is rumors of the Canucks chasing Brian Boucher. BS Meter: I say bullshit. The Canucks have enough holes to fill up front and aren't even looking for a backup goalie right now. Plus Luongo will play nearly 70 games this year. Flaherty can handle the rest..maybe.

*Regardless of the negativity you may hear, Travis Green in Anaheim is a GOOD THING. Green is one of my favorite role players. He's also good at faceoffs. He'll perform in the playoffs every shift and will help the Ducks in their 2007 playoff run. Did I mention he is an ex-Leaf? I always curse them for getting rid of him.

*Speaking of ex-Ducks, Petr Sykora could sign in Edmonton today. They are negotiating at the moment.

Technically, the Leafs didn't "get rid" of Green. They left him unprotected from waivers (protected Stajan instead) and he was picked up by Boston.

Since I posted them late in the last rumors post, I repost them here. Show the love folks

The Calgary Flames issued Alex Tanguay his black hood for media interviews, to be worn so claims can continue of Iginla not having anyone to give him the puck.

The Blackhawks are reportedly courting Hardy Astrom to be the new goalie coach, and Eric Heiden the Asst. Coach.

Pronger wants out of Anaheim. Not happy with Niedermayer's ability to grow facial hair.
