BULIS A CANUCK! / MORE SIGNINGS

According to Czech newspaper articles, as reported on Canucks Corner this morning, Jan Bulis has signed a $1.3 mil contract with the Canucks. Is this the replacement for Carter?? Can he play on the right side?? All I remember is him scoring 4 goals in one game last year. Apparently was in the doghouse last year in Montreal?? maybe R/C can shed some light on Bulis for us??

***Some more signings today..
*The Sharks have signed C Mark Smith to a 1-year $700,000 deal.
*The Avalanche have found a replacement for Rob Blake! It's Ken Klee! Whoopee! Terms not disclosed.
*The Canucks have re-signed RW Lee Goren.
*The Islanders have re-signed Arron Asham to a 1-year 950,000 contract.
*After a career year, Martin Erat has re-signed with the Predators for 2 years, $3.35 million.

*Heads up, the story on Scott Gomez should surface soon!***

The biggest rap against Bulis is he doesn't take nights off. he disappears a week at a time! He has lots of tools but the tollbox needs to hammered occasionally. His best asset is his speed. He reminds me lots of Ross Courtnall with a little more size and grind. He has that same nasty habit of overskating pucks due to his quick takeoff. His lack of consistant work ethic has prevented him from getting any PP time at all. His 20 goals last year were pretty much all 5 on 5. With his speed, he is an above average penalty killer. He has excellent defensive habits and has been schooled to remain in the play. He generates more opportunities than he will ever convert. At 1.3M, I'd say it's a smart move. He ought to do better than previous years, thanks to playing in a more offensive conference. Nice fit!

Oh good, your last sentence brought on a feeling of relief. Thanks for the run-down, RC. He'll need to get 30 goals on the Sedin line to be better than previous years like Carter did.

The only credit I deserve is for reading CC before anything else. Yannick Tremblay's name is also rumoured as a possible signing. You heard it here.

Well shit! Imagine what he'll do on the PP getting spoon-fed by the H-Train and D-Money!

And for not much more than Carter earned last season.

He's got upside that's for sure, but he's frustracting in the same sense as a babe with a headache - you know goodness is around the corner, you just don't know when.

Gotta love that "Erat" name, doncha think? Has that A-Rod, T-Mac, J-Lo ring to it! E-Rat, sounds like a new computer virus. "Watch out you don't open that E-Rat, could be deadly!" I hope he turns into a big star soon. I always lamented the fact that female tennis pro Irena Slutsakaya's career didn't pan out.
Hearing I-Slut from the mouths of female sportscasters would have been precious!
