But I didn't see a lot of San Jose chances either. It almost resembled a playoff game between the 2 teams. Yet it seemed very cautious on both sides.Sean Zandberghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16367951232268606248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31097487.post-53076025230459297022009-01-21T22:44:00.000-08:002009-01-21T22:44:00.000-08:00Hmm ya. Hey, i understand your frustration. For me, ...haha. Hey, i understand your frustration. For me, I've developed this new patient side over the past week. I think it's mostly because I can see now that the players are not tuning out AV. Luongo looked stellar last night. The team played a stingy system and they'll open up a bit more when they continue of play that way defensively.
The Canucks remind of a bunch of kids that flunked and got demoted back to kindergarten right now. It's back to the basics for these guys.
I love how the Avs, Ducks and Hawks lost tonight! Yeah! Fate is on our side still. I anticipate a higher success ratio immediately after the Allstar break.Sean Zandberghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16367951232268606248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31097487.post-80822772956660414882009-01-21T17:31:00.000-08:002009-01-21T17:31:00.000-08:00I've been patient and it didn't get me anywhere. ...I've been patient and it didn't get me anywhere. True enough that we got one point. But we were 30 damned seconds away from two points, and when that didn't pan out we completely handed the second point away in OT. Frustration Central, in my books.

I can't believe we're in 8th, and the Oilers (Oilers!?!?) are ahead of us on percentage.

It's like a damned upside-down world or something.Temujinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08432104447169346842noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31097487.post-48491702457235376872009-01-21T10:34:00.000-08:002009-01-21T10:34:00.000-08:00Jin and Laker: OK, the bandwagoners have been isol...Jin and Laker: OK, the bandwagoners have been isolated. I'm not going to critique that game. 8 shots sucks? Yeah it does. But the team played a more consistent defensive game. They are fighting their way back to playing successful winning hockey. If part of the learning curve is to play super trap to get everyone on the same page and only 8 shots are attained, then I'm all for it. A balance will ensue. You guys need to be patient.
We got the 1 point against the fucking Sharks. More than I thought they'd get.

Nucker: Jeezus, that was very Platoon-like! Poor Louie. Better days are ahead though.Sean Zandberghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16367951232268606248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31097487.post-80246753941029321202009-01-21T09:28:00.000-08:002009-01-21T09:28:00.000-08:00Are you guys kidding? Even if it wasn't shitty, I'm calling it shitty, coz it was shit.

Yeah, true, not many shots. But, fuck, we're talking The Sharks here. Most of us weren't even expecting them to hold their own (so to speak) in the first period, never mind most of the game. They were back, man! They looked like our boys again.

Lou looked like Lou, too, for the first time -- comfortable, confident. Only at the end did he falter. The sight of him splayed face down on the ice will haunt me -- too reminiscent of Willem Defoe in Platoon. (That one's for you, Sean. No charge.)

Oh, the horror, the horror...

(Yeah, I know. Wrong movie. Just keeping up the "war-is-hell" film metaphor.)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31097487.post-13361442266783804772009-01-21T09:08:00.000-08:002009-01-21T09:08:00.000-08:00The canucks managed just 8 shots in the whole game...The canucks managed just 8 shots in the whole game!

Ovechkin averages 7 shots per game on his own.

I don't recall ever seeing a team only get 8 shots in a game!Lakerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02811469303130514917noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31097487.post-24460553025258269472009-01-21T08:20:00.000-08:002009-01-21T08:20:00.000-08:00Sure they fell short losing in overtime but I real...Sure they fell short losing in overtime but I really liked their effort as far as consistency goes.

Are you on the Canucks payroll now? Do you get bonuses for writing this crap? Daniel Sedin with a worthless hooking penalty that results in an OT goal. I can't believe you aren't calling this team out for their undisciplined play!Temujinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08432104447169346842noreply@blogger.com
