Canucks are red hot, like Frank's Hot Sauce
I got called into work right after the Wild scored the first goal of the game. Up to that point I thought the Canucks were showing a lot of hustle and grit even though they had played in New York the previous night. So I did not see the rest of the game.

Daniel Sedin scored the winner midway through the third period in the Canucks' 3-2 victory over the Minnesota on Thursday night.The Canucks are 12-6-2 now and are 3 points ahead of the Wild and Flames. They own the Northwest Division for now. They have played the same amount of games as the Flames but 3 more than the Wild. So these wins really count for the long term.
Steve Bernier and former Wild winger Pavol Demitra also scored to help Vancouver beat Minnesota for the second time this season. The Canucks are 6-0-2 in their past eight games and have not lost in regulation to a division foe in six games (5-0-1).
Curtis Sanford made 28 saves for his first win since Dec. 12, 2007, a span of 13 games. It was his first start in 15 games.
Mikko Koivu scored twice for Minnesota, which lost for the second time in six games - both to Vancouver.
So since I missed over half the game...what happened? Who really stood out? The Demitra-Sedin line looked good to start out and I see Demitra continues to score.
I have been waiting to see "goal: Bernier assisted by: Wellwood" for a while now it seems. Nice to see that happened.
Sanford looked steady.
Oh and I guess Edler gave Salo the flu. I thought Edler was quarantined. Why did Edler cough in Salo's direction? He could have hurt him!

Sean - Sorry you missed the game, hope you had a good shift at work.
I got home with 17 minutes left in the 2nd, so I was very happy about that.
Bernier's goal was very sweet. There was a stick battle for the puck in front of the Wild net and both player's sticks knocked each other's out of the play, leaving the puck lying there, unmoving and untouched. Bernier got his stick down on the ice on it and flipped in up into the right side top shelf of the net in a flash. Backstrom had no chance.
The Canucks looked fresh, which really surprised me. Either their conditioning is better this year or they were simply pumped for this game. By the 3rd, it was the Wild who looked like they played in Manhattan the night before.
The Sedin line's control was top notch, especially when protecting the lead late in the 3rd.
The Canucks fell behind twice and had every incentive to let up, but they didn't and they pulled out a gutsy win.
Things are looking good right now.
Only two complaints: I don't think Sanford is up to the job, though it may be that he needs to simply see more action to be sharp. And, yes, Pyatt still looks useless to me...though I am far from an expert and obviously AV sees something I am not seeing.
I listened to part of the game while on the long drive to Kemess, but had to switch my satellite radio for the service radio i the cigarette lighter so I could call out my kilometres!
I'm surprised Golbez hasn't made an appearance to talk about Demitra. I gotta admit, I'm pleased by his performance.

I think AV is trying to get Pyatt to score so he can trade him away or have someone pick him up on waivers.
Jin- Golbez is looming in the shadows waiting for the 20th game is my bet! haha.
I'm glad Demitra is playing well. Let's just say that I officially hate him less than I ever have in the past :)
