Nagy to Dallas

From the Canadian Press today:

The Dallas Stars hope Ladislav Nagy can help put them over the top.

Dallas acquired the speedy winger on Monday from the Phoenix Coyotes in exchange for a first-round draft pick and forward Mathias Tjarnqvist. "Ladislav brings speed and skill to our hockey club and has proven to be a top-six NHL forward over his career," said Stars GM Doug Armstrong. "We look for him to come in and make an immediate impact on our roster."

Nagy is slated to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. He became expendable after Coyotes GM Mike Barnett was unable to sign him to a long-term deal. He's earning US$3 million this season.

Haha, good luck, Dallas. This is the first season that Nagy hasn't had a long-term injury. Nagy is skilled no doubt, but a risk.
The Coyotes shed themselves of Nagy's impending raise and get a 1st rounder and Tjarnqvist out of the deal. Should help them in their rebuilding stage.

That is a huge, huge, huge price to pay for Nagy.

A first round pick and a player for a soon-to-be UFA that has eight goals?

It could pay off if he clicks with his linemates. Will he play with Halpern and Lindros? Ribeiro? Modano? But yeesh, if I were Dallas I wouldn't be messing around too much. They've been playing well lately... why stir the pot?

I agree with you pal, "Good Luck, Dallas".

Ah well, let Dallas take the risk. Hopefully it does tamper with the chemistry, making them easy pickings in the playoffs.
I still can't believe that Nagy has played so many games this year...a miracle!
With Nagy's skill, he should be on the top line.
