Hurricanes trade Kevin Adams to Phoenix

The Hurricanes have traded Kevin Adams to the Phoenix Coyotes for D-man Dennis Seidenberg.

''With some uncertainly concerning when our injured defencemen will be able to return, we needed to make this move now,'' Hurricanes GM Jim Rutherford said in a statement. ''Dennis will be a good fit for us on defence. We thank Kevyn for his good service during his years in Carolina.''

Seidenberg, 25, has been a healthy scratch recently in Phoenix and was going to be even more expendible with the return of Nick Boynton sometime this week. With the Flyers and Coyotes combined, Seidenberg had 8 goals and 33 points in 158 NHL games.
I like this trade, especially for the Coyotes, who get a gritty veteran who can chip in from time to time. Unfortunately, this season with the Canes he only had 2 goals and 4 points in 35 games. Doesn't matter. I've always been a fan of Adams' play, and he will benefit a resurging Coyotes squad at center, and add a tonne of character and experience on and off the ice.
