Edler sent back down to the minors
With the return of Willie Mitchell, Alexander Edler has been sent back to the Moose. Patrick Coulombe is staying put on the Canucks' roster for now. I'm not sure why Vigneault is keeping Coulombe in the big league, except for what I mentioned earlier: that Coulombe mightily impressed Vigneault during preseason.
I thought Edler was playing pretty well with the Canucks in his 4 games, but maybe Edler lacks something....
Either way....here are Edler's stats in his 4 games with the Nucks.
Goals: 0.......Assists: 1.....+/- 0.....Average ice time: 15:04
Coulombe has played 3 games, has 0 points, is a -5, and is averaging 15:56 of icetime.
What do you think? Who would you prefer at this point? Edler or Coulombe?

I thought Edler played a bit better then Coulombe but I never got a really good feel for either since (1) the TV folks didn't really spotlight them and (2) I was too consumed watching the disaster on offense to really notice what the hell was going on behind them. It's comforting to note Edler is a servicable replacement though should more injuries come down the pike...
I feel the same way, on everything you said actually!
I'm going to watch Coulombe a little closer.
Peppi! Why would a forward in Bulis be sent down and a D like Edler stay with the Nucks?
Coulombe does sneak in from the point doesn't he? Crafty little Peppi that he is.
So if Bulis would be sent down, who would you like to see come up? Rypken? (sp?) I guess a pylon would be better than Bulis right now!
Too bad Jason King didn't stick around....
Vigneault loves Rypien; i'm not that familiar with him, but isn't he very much a Cooke kind of player? Do we really need another one? As fun as it would be for Cooke, Rypien and Burrows to be on one line, a goal scorer of some magnitude would be splendid. How about that Jesse Schultz?! Just kidding, that was mean...
Schultz? What about him? Isn't he the next choice?
