LEAFS GET SHUT OUT IN OPENER/COLAIACOVO SEEING STARS

The Sabres made meat out of the Leafs in the opener, shutting down the Leafs 4-0. According to TSN, Andrew Raycroft played well, but he Leafs dug themselves a hole taking too many penalties. Jiri Novotny, Derek Roy and Daniel Paille scored power play goals in the second period for the Sabres, and Mike Ryan added another power-play goal in the third. Buffalo outshot Toronto 32-23. Toronto was 0-for-7 and Buffalo 4-for-11 on power plays. Marty Biron got the shutout for the Sabres.
It's officially on, Canuck fans! I can just see us bashing wachother back and forth all season long. I can't wait!

To make matters worse for the Leafs, defenceman Carlo Colaiacovo is going to see a neurologist because of concussion symptoms from a head injury he suffered January 23rd. That was the collision in the boards that he had with Senator Vaclav Varada. This will probably mean some, or alot of missed time for the promising Leaf.
Carlo can dish them out too though. Check out this hit on the behemoth Bertuzzi.
