PYATT A CANUCK / OILERS SIGN HORCOFF

Just reported on TSN:

BUFFALO, N.Y. - The
Buffalo Sabres have
traded the rights of
forward Taylor Pyatt
to the Vancouver
Canucks, in exchange
for a fourth-round
selection in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Pyatt, the 6-4,
220-pound left
wing played in
41 games for Buffalo during the 2005-06 season.
He finished the year with six goals and six
assists, including one game-winning goal
against Ottawa on April 8. During the
2006 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Pyatt appeared
in 14 games and collected five assists).

Pyatt played 230 games over the last
four seasons with the Sabres (2001-2006),
totaling 80 points. In his NHL career,
Pyatt has appeared in 308 regular season
games, collecting 98 points.

Here are Pyatt's career stats:

Impressive? Nope. Is this our Carter replacement,
because I am not sure what to think of this if he is!

The Oilers have signed Shawn Horcoff to a 3-year
10.8 million dollar deal. This is a great price for
Horcoff, who has been steadily improving his
game in Edmonton. Last season he had 73 points.
It is crucial for the Oils to keep their top line intact.
So which restricted free agent is next to sign for a
lower price tag? It blows my mind that the Unrestricted
Free Agents get signed for inflated price tags at
the beginning of the free agent season. This is mostly
because of the bidding war that occurs. But really
though, is Pavel Kubina worth more than Shawn
Horcoff? Give me a break!

You and your damn nay-saying and negativity, I'm sick of it.

Pyatt has a lot to prove, and he's going to come out fighting like the true champion that he is! What about
Pyatt-Kesler-Park? That's a good young line with speed, toughness, and skill!

Or Pyatt-Linden-Bouck!

Let's see if those AHL'ers are as good as you say they are.

The combination Nuk/Leaf fan is sure to cause ulcers and clouded reasoning.

Pyatt-Sedin-Sedin. Time for Daniel to move over to the right side. Thay always set up from that side for their slap pass!!! Lots of Carter's easy ones came from the left side of the net, too.
OR

Naslund-Mo-Pyatt

Maybe we have the next Bertuzzi, without the lazy ass back check. He is supposed to be decent defensively as well have good speed for his size.

Negative? Maybe a little. But the Canucks haven't replaced Bertuzzi's 40-50 goals yet. Sure Pyatt has a lot to prove , and will look good on a checking line, but I'm still waiting for a bigger deal.
Maybe, the Canucks will try to look like last years Sabres. Hmmm...
Sedin / Sedin / Pyatt?? I'm open for suprises!

HAHAHA! Good one! You must not have drank last night!
In the words of Lieutenant Barnes (Platoon): "I am reality!"
