IS SYKORA HEADING TO EDMONTON?

There are various reports that UFA Petr Sykora may be heading north. There are rumors that he could sign a 1-year $2.85 million deal as early as today.
I say they can have him!! Sykora has been awfully streaky in recent years. He had 51 points in 74 games last year. His best seasons were with the Devils on the famed Arnott/Elias Sykora line that won the Cup in 2000. That is still one of my favorite lines of all time.
However, it would be interesting to see Sykora's work ethic in Edmonton. MacT wouldn't ever let him off the hook for slacking, and maybe Sykora could revive his career with the Oils.
Either way, it is SPECULATION at this point. I'm sure Oiler fans hope it becomes a reality.

Agreed. That line was amazing, especially considering that there were Gomez-Mogilny and a Holik-McCay combinations hiding behind the 'A-Line'.

Plus some punk named Claude Lemieux and a rookie upstart named John Madden.

Pick him in your hockey pool if you want to be angry for weeks at a time. lol

Sykora is always good for shots-on-goal, but everything else is wishy-washy.

aha comments under the wrong post there RC! I don't buy into that 'players piling onto Moore' bit. Moore was out before he hit the ice.
I keep forgetting that May and Moore fought after that. Obviously May didn't whoop his ass did he? Maybe THAT would have ended it.

Damn LOL! Just Bertuzzi's name gets me going! Sorry for posting so hastily, I was hot on the Hasek news myself!

I don't subscribe to the piling theory either, but it is often brought up, falsely justifying the extent of Moore's injuries.
Judging by the score that night, the Canucks didn't have their minds on a hockey game!

Did it ever! Crawford doesn't reel his guys in too good, he's too emotional himself!

When he coached the Royals, I once saw him drill a water bottle onto the ice. Some folks thought he was aimed for a refs head. He was. He hurled the thing with so much gusto, it actually flew into the penalty box, where his penalized player sat. All officials happened to be turning away from him at that moment and never noticed. The player in the box just cooly picked it up and started drinking from it!

When Craw was named in some of the Bertuzzi lawsuits, I got real worried for him!

Good point! Geez Lou Fucking Weez, you are a walking encyclopedia aren't you? That is a great Crow story. I can only imagine what he's going to throw at Avery this year!
